The Hodgson family has lived in the Dale for generations. Walter was born in the village and only left to be in the navy during World War II. Ray however is an incomer. She left Lancashire, where she was born, to go to Dartford college of Physical Education and then taught in various places including Australia. In 1965 we established Wraycroft Cottages and are still enthusiastically continuing (except perhaps on change over days !) With our son Dave and family now living next door we are able to share the load. Dave also Reeth born, left to go to music college, travelled and worked abroad but then in 2003 returned to the village with his family. He was well able to step into a major cottage role'.
Living on the same two acre site as our cottages we are here to welcome you on arrival. We have lots of regular visitors many having become friends over the years.
Unfortunately some of these visitors are no longer able to return and we are very fortunate to have found other guests to take their places,

We offer an oasis of calm where visitors can enjoy spectacular views, access to the River Swale, ponds, trees, wildlife whilst staying in 4 star accommodation which achieves 100% cleanliness by Visit England. We have three terraced self-catering cottages, each sleeping up to 4 persons and offer reductions for parties of one or two. The cottages are kept warm through out the year..
There are open fires, wi-fi access, private parking
For the active there is a substantial full sized badminton net which can be erected on the grass or hard court. A swim in the river or a run up and down the garden for the hardy.
Others may elect to sit by the river or on one of the well placed benches or use a net to pond dip. Just let the world go by.
We offer a friendly welcome, advice if requested, privacy if not.
The fact that we have such a high percentage of returning visitors is our highest recommendation. One couple have come for over 40 years and many have been returning for between ten to twenty years.
There are so many holiday cottages available nowadays it must be difficult for new visitors to decide which one to select.
We like you to ring so you can hear our enthusiasm and answer any questions you may have.
Choose us and we are sure you will not be disappointed.
People say, we never knew you were here. The reason is because we are tucked away on the edge of the village. A village which can be very busy. Come through a short snicket and you find our site. The contrast is amazing. It is like another world. Two private acres to roam with 180 yards of our own river bank.
Reeth is 11 miles from Richmond and Leyburn.

If travelling from Richmond (B6270), on entering Reeth, the road branches just before it goes up the hill. The branch road is a Y junction and opposite the bottom shop. It is called the Back Lane and is steep. We are on the left hand side at the top of the hill. An easier approach is to remain on the main road which goes through the village on its way to Gunnerside etc. Just after the fire station which is still in the village, turn left down Langhorne Drive. This road ends in a T Junction. Turn left down Back Lane and Wraycroft Cottages, well marked, are about hundred metres on your Right.
Come down the drive and ring the bell at either Wraycroft or Wrayview. The cottages are in our grounds and we are here to welcome you.
